Ajax qualifies for the Europa League group stage after a sleep-inducing match against Ludogorets

In a bad match, Ajax lost 1-0 to Ludogorets. Despite the loss, the team from Amsterdam qualified for the group stage of the Europa League. Last week, Bulgaria won 4-1.

Nothing happened in a sleep-inducing first half. Ajax played at a much too slow pace and the visitors were unable to create anything. With the glasses on the scoreboard, both teams went to the locker room.

After the break, the game didn’t get any better. To make matters worse, Mattias Tissera tapped in in the 62nd minute and the visitors led 1-0. Ajax struggled on and disappointed enormously. Ludogorets became even more dangerous and could have scored a second goal.

Injury

Bad news also came from Steven Bergwijn. After just under 70 minutes of playing, the captain grabbed his left leg and stumbled off the field. The severity of the injury is not yet known.

All in all, it was an evening to forget for the Ajax players.
