Ajax will play against Napoli in Italy tomorrow. After the 6-1 earwash in Amsterdam, Ajax will love to show what they have to offer. “Every sportsman wants to take revenge. Our players have that too,” said Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder.
The chance is small that Ajax will overwinter in the Champions League. Napoli and Liverpool are first and second in group A with nine and six points respectively from three matches. Followed by Ajax with three out of three. Still, Schreuder remains hopeful. “Of course you have to have faith. Of course it is difficult, but if we win we are in a much better position.”

Ajax has been playing badly in recent weeks. Last Saturday, the team from Amsterdam narrowly beat red lantern bearer FC Volendam 4-2. Before that, Schreuder’s team only took one point from four matches.
“If you look at the past few weeks, we are not stable. You cannot expect us to be top every game. Only there are moments in the game when it can be much better and you should not fall through the lower limit,” said Schreuder.
Tadic suspended
Ajax has to compete with Napoli without the suspended captain Dusan Tadic. Devyne Rensch is also not present. He was left behind in Amsterdam with a minor groin injury.
