Kik Pierie is leaving Ajax again on a rental basis. The 22-year-old footballer finishes the season at Excelsior Rotterdam. The central defender is rented from Ajax by the Kralingers for the rest of the season.
“I knew I wanted to take the next step in the winter,” says Pierie on the Excelsior website. “Then you look at which clubs are interested and which clubs I can be interesting for. I quickly found Excelsior Rotterdam. Despite the fact that they do not have a large budget, they do everything they can to think in creative solutions That mentality appeals to me.”
Pierie was a fixed value at Jong Ajax this season. This season he played fifteen games in the shirt of the reserves team. However, it did not come to a debut in the first.
In the summer of 2019, Pierie came over from sc Heerenveen. For the past two seasons, Pierie has been rented out to FC Twente. Due to a lingering back injury, he didn’t get to play much in Enschede.
