Ajax is again the leader after seven-hit against weak Excelsior

Ajax has settled with Excelsior Rotterdam with ample figures. In the end, the team from Amsterdam was 7-1 too strong for the PhD student. As a result, Ajax takes over the lead in the Eredivisie from PSV.

It soon became clear that Ajax would have an easy evening against Excelsior. The team from Amsterdam attacked from the start and did not allow any outbreaks. Jorge Sánchez, who again replaced Devyne Rensch, shot at goalkeeper Stijn van Gassel after twelve minutes. A few minutes later, the Mexican was able to cheer after he finished a rebound: 1-0. It was Steven Berghuis, who doubled Ajax’s margin after half an hour. Then Brian Brobbey – who was preferred over Mohammed Kudus – missed two big chances. Three times it turned out to be a charm on the stroke of half-time: 3-0.

The game was decided within twenty minutes of the break. Brobbey first made his second of the evening, before Dusan Tadic made the final touch at 5-0. The hunger for goals had not yet been quenched for Ajax, because Steven Bergwijn also took one: 6-0.

The substitute Kudus eventually made the last goal of the team from Amsterdam. In stoppage time Excelsior scored 7-1, but of course it was not exciting. With the win, Ajax takes the lead again from PSV.
