All Ajax fans got up today with a big smile. Their club defeated Feyenoord 2-0 yesterday. After weeks of misery, the victory over the arch-rival was a welcome boost that was celebrated exuberantly. On ‘the day after’ we visited the Amsterdam café De Fluiter with NH Sport. “We needed this,” says Ajax supporter Carlo van Munster.

“Fantastic,” owner Jet Pijlman looks back on yesterday’s match. In her café, a group of supporters watched the 200th Classic. The victory caused a lot of relief. “It was crazy. Everyone was jumping in the air.”

Second place

The euphoria after this weekend is great, but every realistic Ajax fanatic will realize that a lot still needs to be done. “One swallow does not make a summer,” says Van Munster. Yet he still believes in second place. “It is possible, because we are five points behind Feyenoord.”

And things are going badly for the korfball players of the Amsterdam Blauw-Wit. Six matches in the Korfball League resulted in six defeats. Trainer Dennis Doves is convinced that everything will be fine for Blauw-Wit. You see a report in which the camera focuses on the eccentric Doves.

The NH Sport broadcast is broadcast every Monday at 5:10 PM and then repeated every half hour. You can also click on the video at the top of this article for today’s entire broadcast.
