Ajax does manage to win the second practice match against Hannover

After yesterday’s defeat, Ajax was able to win the second practice match against Hannover 96. In the Antonio Barbadillo, a small stadium near Cádiz, Spain, the score was 2-1.

The two teams also faced each other yesterday. That match, in which coach John van ‘t Schip mainly sent out reserve players, was lost 0-3. In the opening phase of the second match, Hannover was again able to become dangerous a few times, but it was Ajax that took the lead. After a quarter of the game the team led 2-0.

The first of those goals came from Brian Brobbey, who headed a fine cross from Borna Sosa against the ropes in the 24th minute. Steven Bergwijn doubled the score. The winger, who has been linked with a move to West Ham United, played two defenders and then fired home from about 15 yards.

Just before halftime, Hannover, which is currently eighth in Germany’s second level, reduced the difference by making it 2-1. 19-year-old Muhammed Damar took advantage of Devyne Rensch’s clumsy loss of ball.

After the break, both teams kept each other in balance. Steven Berghuis had a great chance to make it 3-1 ten minutes after half-time and Hannover 96 was close to the equalizer on the counter thanks to a bet by Andreas Voglsammer. Berghuis’s chance was saved by the keeper, which was prevented from Voglsammer by a great tackle from Jorrel Hato.

Although both teams continued to create chances throughout the rest of the match, no goals were ultimately scored. Just before the end, Hannover came dangerously close to the equalizer. After Nicolò Tresoldi’s shot was saved by Ajax keeper Diant Ramaj, Voglsammer aimed the rebound over the goal.

As a result, Ajax was able to end the training camp in Spain with a victory. The Amsterdam team’s next match is next Sunday. The match against Go Ahead Eagles is scheduled for 2:30 PM.
