Ajax coach Schreuder stands up for PSV: ‘KNVB must really put a line through artificial grass’ | Eredivisie

Alfred Schreuder expressed his dissatisfaction with artificial grass prior to the match between Ajax and Go Ahead Eagles. The defeat of PSV on the fake turf of SC Cambuur (3-0) was not so strange, according to Schreuder. Ajax drew 1-1 against the people of Deventer.

For the match against Go Ahead Eagles, Schreuder surprisingly defended the Eindhoven competitor. ,,I haven’t seen any matches on artificial grass for a long time, but that is really a different sport. The Cambuur boys move much more naturally. So the KNVB has to put a line through that very quickly,” Schreuder said ESPN.

PSV swallowed the second loss of the season in Leeuwarden. Surprisingly enough, the home team stepped off the field with a resounding victory via hits from Silvester van der Water, Mitchell Paulissen and Sai van Wermeskerken. As a result, Ajax and AZ can benefit.

Four clubs

SC Cambuur is one of the four Eredivisie teams that will be playing on artificial grass this season. PhD students Excelsior, FC Volendam and FC Emmen also play their home games on artificial grass. Earlier, this site noted that the artificial grass experiment has completely failed in the Netherlands.

In the past, countless players have spoken out against the fake blades of grass. Ajax captain Dusan Tadic also addressed the KNVB last season. ,,Every player is less good on artificial grass, as much as fifty percent”, he began his fiery speech. ,,You make a lot more technical mistakes on artificial grass than on grass. It would be good if everyone played on normal grass.”
