It’s official: Mohammed Kudus leaves Ajax for West Ham United. The Ghanaian brings the Amsterdammers at least 43 million euros. That amount can increase to more than 46 million euros through bonuses.
The Ghanaian international came to Ajax from FC Nordsjælland in the summer of 2020 for 9 million euros. Kudus came to 87 official games for the team from Amsterdam and scored 27 goals. He scored his last goals (three) last Thursday against Ludogorets: 4-1 win.
During his time at Ajax, he was crowned champion twice in 2021 and 2022. Kudus won a KNVB cup in 2021. At West Ham United he will meet former teammate Edson Álvarez. It was sold earlier this summer for 38 million euros.

The club also said goodbye to important players such as Jurriën Timber and Dusan Tadic in recent months. Trainer Maurice Steijn already said after the victory over Ludogorets that Kudus had probably played his last match for Ajax. The coach hopes that several reinforcements will come to Amsterdam next week.
Possible replacement
Last week, Ajax was associated with Thiago Almada, the Argentinian tastemaker of Atlanta United is seen as a possible replacement. It is highly questionable whether his arrival is feasible. Georgian Georges Mikautadze from FC Metz has also attracted the attention of director of football affairs Sven Mislintat.
In recent months, the team from Amsterdam paid about 80 million euros for the acquisitions of Branco van den Boomen, Benjamin Tahirovic, Diant Ramaj, Carlos Forbs, Jakov Medic, Chuba Akpom, Anton Gaaei, Josip Sutalo and Gastón Ávila.
The transfers of Timber, Álvarez, Kudus, Calvin Bassey and Mohamed Daramy yield the club more than 150 million euros.
