Ajax and Feyenoord play in preparation for a practice match against Red Bull Salzburg | NOW

Ajax and Feyenoord will play a practice match against Red Bull Salzburg in Austria in July. This is apparent from the Austrian preparation schedule published on Tuesday.

Feyenoord and Ajax had not yet officially announced that a training camp will be held in Austria next summer. Both clubs have done so in recent years, although Feyenoord had to cancel the trip at the last minute in 2020 due to too many corona infections.

Red Bull Salzburg is a popular practice opponent for the Dutch top clubs. Ajax won 1-4 against the Austrians in the summer of 2020. Feyenoord practiced against Salzburg a year earlier, but lost 3-1, partly due to a goal by the then eighteen-year-old Erling Haaland.

The club from the Red Bull group became champion in its own country for the ninth time in a row last season. It also won the cup, which means it seized the double for the fourth time in a row.

Former Ajax players Maximilian Wöber and Rasmus Kristensen are regulars in the starting eleven. There are currently no former Feyenoord players under contract with the club.
