Ajax has today announced the arrival of Calvin Bassey and has thus definitely received the dreamed successor of Lisandro Martínez who left for Manchester United. Bassey comes over from the Scottish Rangers FC for at least 23 million euros and signs a contract in Amsterdam until the summer of 2027.
For Rangers, the sale of the centre-back is the biggest outbound transfer in club history. The amount of 23 million euros can increase to 26.5 million euros due to bonuses. The 22-year-old Bassey was born in Italy, but plays for Nigeria. He has played six international matches for the African country to date.
