Airen Mylene can now be seen considerably less often at the head of the Shownieuws desk. The presenter chooses to give more space to her new radio work.
Most people know Airen Mylene as a presenter of Shownieuws and Lachen Om Home Videos, but nowadays she is more active for the radio. She has become a regular newsreader at Radio 538, which is in dire straits. And that is what her attention is now focused on.
Less television
Airen tells Weekend about this development in her career. “After not working for weeks due to a concussion, that was quite a thing. It was a bit of a struggle because everything was new at 538. And yes, I also have Shownieuws next to it.”
She continues: “That was not entirely my intention, because I actually wanted to take it easy, haha! But I still like it. I will do less TV. I can’t do as many Shownieuws broadcasts as before.”
More radio
Why less on television? “To be able to combine my family and 538. I think radio, just like TV, is an incredibly fun path to walk. In addition to Shownieuws, I also do Laughing Om Home Videos, so I will stay in the picture anyway – just less.”
She continues: “I also visit 538 a lot, but on social media. It’s a different visibility, I see it as a broadening of my personal development. You get more news and you can do even more with it. The maker in me gets very excited about that and having that control suits me.”
