On March 2nd, 2024, the French will bring their debut album live to the stage at the Theater des Westens.
In the spring the French from Air are coming to Berlin for a show. They will perform at the Theater des Westens on March 2nd, 2024. The plan: The duo plays their debut work MOON SAFARI in its entirety.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the event begins at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available here from November 17th at 10am.
With this special concert, Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel want to honor their debut, which came out in 1998 and immediately gave them a real career boost.
More about the work: The band from Versailles spent three years working on their debut album, which immediately became a classic as a reward for their efforts. While Daft Punk are robotizing the dance floor at the same time, Air is opening up the lounge and chill-out zone for all those who have had enough of techno. Originally trained on classical instruments such as piano and guitar, Dunckel and Godin created the unmistakable, nostalgic and futuristic sound of MOON SAFARI on analog devices such as the Moog and Korg MS-20. Atmosphere is everything: Gentle yet suggestive, the tracks float on soft synth clouds, accented by mysterious samples, acoustic guitars, muted brass and the voice of guest singer Beth Hirsch, who can be heard on “All I Need” and “You Make It Easy”. The album’s big hits – “Sexy Boy” and “Kelly Watch The Stars” – have aged surprisingly well: classics, after all.
