Aid organizations hand out blankets, food and clothing in Ter Apel

At the application center in Ter Apel, aid organizations distributed items such as food and drinks, but also blankets, clothing, jackets and shoes. These were volunteers from Christian and Islamic aid organizations.

The distributed items were in great demand among the asylum seekers. So much had been brought that there were still things left over. In the night from Saturday to Sunday, asylum seekers who had to sleep outside in Ter Apel were ‘terribly cold’, MSF reported earlier today. In total, about 250 people slept outside that night.

It is not known how many people have to sleep outside during the night from Sunday to Monday. A crisis emergency shelter has been open in Doetinchem since Sunday for 225 refugees, who can stay until the end of the year.
