Aid in the war – Poland delivers fighter jets to Ukraine

Now it’s confirmed! After a long struggle, the green light is given for the Mig-29 delivery to Ukraine: Poland is sending all of its fighter jets of the type (apparently 23 pieces) to Ramstein – from there they are to be delivered by the USA to Ukraine.

This reports BILD.

Using the detour of the US base Ramstein, Poland avoids the possible accusation of direct deliveries of combat aircraft to Ukraine.

The government in Warsaw said on Tuesday evening that all MIG-29s would be transferred to Ramstein “immediately and free of charge”. There they would then be “available” to the USA. In return, Poland will receive F-16 fighter jets from the USA!

On Tuesday evening, Poland also called on all NATO partners who own MIG-29s to do the same and also deliver the planes to Ukraine.

Poland, Bulgaria and Slovakia still have old Russian-made fighter jets, such as the MiG-29s, which could be flown by Ukrainian pilots without major conversion, according to Politico magazine.

Last week, as Poland considered sending fighter jets to Ukraine, Warsaw asked the White House if the government of US President Joe Biden (79) could guarantee that it would provide them with American-made fighter jets to fight the to close the gap.

The administration of US President Joe Biden (79) has not previously opposed the Polish government making the MiGs available to Kyiv. BUT: Poland needed a replacement. This is now secured with the delivery of the F-16 from the USA.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (44) had repeatedly asked for Ukraine to also send air support, as this was the only way the country could defeat the Russian armed forces.
