A journalist becomes Kontra K’s fictional friend through AI systems. The case of Celina Euchner illustrates the dangers of AI in the news sector.

Celina Euchner is Kontra K’s girlfriend – at least that’s what hundreds of AI-based so-called news sites on the Internet claim. The Swiss journalist conducted an interview with the German rapper for “Blick” in 2019 – and that was where her points of contact with the rapper ended. Nevertheless, since 2024 she has been portrayed online as a friend, wife or even mother of Kontra K’s children.

The chatbots Claude and Perplexity, among others, spread this misinformation, as did Grok, Elon Musk’s program: “Current sources confirm Celina Euchner as his current and long-term partner,” Grok stated until the beginning of November when users asked about Kontra K’s partner.

“I feel exposed, somehow dirty”

Euchner herself only found out about the massive reports through a friend, as she writes in a report in the “Tages-Anzeiger”. “I feel exposed, somehow sullied. None of it is true, but who does it matter to?” is how she describes the feeling of “powerlessness” she feels when she sees article after article depicting a fictional life as a rapper’s wife.

No imprint, no contact options

Today, Euchner works for the “Tages-Anzeiger”, which has researched the false news. The journalists found out: The first article that described Euchner as Kontra K’s partner appears to have appeared on “Lifeswire.de” on August 14, 2024 under the title “Kontra K’s girlfriend Celina Euchner: Her relationship in detail”. The only source cited was Euchner’s interview in “Blick” from 2019. Apparently the AI incorrectly concluded from the caption of the interview that Euchner was the partner they were looking for, according to the “Tages-Anzeiger”.

But that wasn’t the only mistake: The photo shown in the article didn’t even show Euchner, but rather Bloomberg journalist Fabienne Kinzelmann, who also worked at the “Blick” group at the time.

“There are analysis tools that check whether a text was written by AI. In the case of the Lifeswire article, they indicate a very high probability that it was machine-generated. The title appears eighteen times in the text – a clear indication that so-called keywords are intentionally repeated so that Google finds the page and reaches as large a readership as possible,” reports the “Tages-Anzeiger”. “Lifeswire.de” has neither an imprint nor functioning contact options; Emails to the alleged editorial team were returned.

AI sites copy each other

On the same day, dozens of other AI websites copied the article. This led to a snowball effect: the more often the AI pages linked to each other with the false report, the more Google and the chatbots would have seen this as confirmation – because the algorithm interprets many links as a sign of credibility, according to the “Tages-Anzeiger”. In the end, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Grok and finally even Google itself named Euchner as the rapper’s official partner.

According to her Instagram post, Euchner then initially contacted the Federal Cybercrime Office. This referred her to the police, where she could have filed a report – but against each individual website. “There are hundreds of pages and most of them don’t even have an imprint,” said Euchner in an Instagram post. The “Tages-Anzeiger” was at least able to find the Swiss Maik Möhring, who runs several such AI websites. Until recently, one of them, “fhm-online.de”, also had an article about the alleged love life of Kontra K and Celina Euchner. After Möhring was informed of the error, he immediately deleted the page, according to the “Tages-Anzeiger”.

Study: Half of AI answers are seriously wrong

Euchner’s case is just one example of how false reports are created and spread through AI-generated content. According to a study by the European Broadcasting Union, 45 percent of AI chatbot answers to news questions contain at least one serious error. An earlier BBC study even came to 51 percent.

Meanwhile, the snippet highlighted by Google when searching for “Kontra K girlfriend” shows the corrected information: “Internet sites that spread AI-generated news have been making the false claim since 2025 that Kontra K’s partner is the Swiss journalist Celina Euchner.”

KI simply replaces Euchner with another woman

Despite this, AI-based news sites continue to spread misinformation about the rapper’s alleged partner. As “hiphop.de” now also reports, one such site is “Havelzeitung.de”: In an article dated April 2025, a “Jasmin Riegler” is now identified as a friend. The text describes in detail a – probably fictional – relationship history including emotional life. Riegler is featured as a fashion and fitness influencer with a large social media following. There are several users with this name on Instagram, but they are neither fashion and fitness influencers nor affiliated with Kontra K. Apparently, in the same article that previously described Euchner, the name was simply swapped.

Kontra K, whose real name is Maximilian Diehn, is a father of three. He keeps the name of his actual partner secret.
