Aguado has signed with Espanyol for the next two seasons

The player comes to replace Darder, a very important piece

Espanyol midfielder Álvaro Aguado stated this Wednesday, in his presentation as the new blue and white footballer, that He intends to achieve promotion to LaLiga with his team and has full confidence in the project’s ability to achieve this.

The signing, in a press conference held at the Stage Front Stadium, was ambitious: “I want to play in the First Division and consolidate myself in the category and in this club I see that I can do it. I hope to be here for many years. “I’m with teammates who I don’t think are from the Second Division and I know it’s going to be very difficult for me to earn my position.”

The player, who arrives free and signs for two seasons, insisted that he lands “with a lot of desire to contribute and row”; and made it clear that the group is “prepared to fight for the objective.” In this sense, Aguado confessed that he “likes” the pressure of achieving promotion to the First Division.

Álvaro Aguado recognized that it has been a “very complicated” summer as he is without a team after ending his contract with Valladolid: “I wanted to take the steps firmly and safely. It has been long for many reasons. “It was an easy decision because Garagarza (the blue and white sports director) was very stubborn.”

Regarding the team’s current good performance, Aguado was cautious: “If we think that we are going to be promoted in January we will be very, very wrong. We go with maximum humility and ambition and we hope to be in First Division in May. There are many games left and Second is very long”.

On the other hand, the Andalusian assured that both Darder, a former blue and white player, and he are footballers “of the same or similar profile”, although he noted that “Darder is Darder and Aguado is Aguado”. “I come to add to what I have done since I was little. I am flattered that I can be compared to him and I hope I can help,” she added.

The sports director, Fran Garagarza was “very satisfied” with the incorporation: “We want to thank him and his wife for taking the step of coming to Espanyol. It hasn’t been easy, but we were clear that we had to work hard. He is a footballer with experience and with a profile that we understood would help us.”
