Unbelievable incident in India: An aggro monkey slit the stomach of a boy (10) – and tore out his intestines.
The child died after the attack, reports the Indian portal NDTV, among others, citing the police.
The ten-year-old was playing with friends in the small village of Salki in the state of Gujarat, it was said. Then came the devastating attack. The monkeys pounced on the boy. One of them then sank his claws into the child’s stomach, authorities said.
An anonymous official told Indian news agency PTI: “His intestines were torn out in the attack. He rushed to his house and was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.”
Third attack in a week
The animals are apparently a particularly brutal gang: it was the third attack in the village within a week, the official said. Accordingly, the aggro monkeys belong to the langur genus. These are found throughout South Asia and are herbivores. The skilled climbers are just as nimble on the ground. How much strength the monkeys have is shown by the fact that they can jump up to ten meters.
It is not known why this group makes life miserable for the villagers. After all: the responsible forest officer assured the residents that he and his team were on the hunt for the horror monkeys. Two were caught last week.
Incidents of violence against animals are occurring again in India. In the summer, a bounty of around 230 euros was even placed on the “most wanted monkey in the world”: he was held responsible for 20 attacks on people, and was ultimately incapacitated with tranquilizer darts and captured.
Dramatic: Five years ago, a monkey even kidnapped an infant. Near India’s most famous sight, the Taj Mahal, the monkey tore the twelve-day-old boy from his mother’s arms. Then he fled with him across the rooftops. Neighbors were finally able to chase the animal away – but any help came too late for the baby. It died of its injuries.
