Aggressive man (22) swears at emergency workers and hits a police officer

A 22-year-old man from Halsteren was arrested on Saturday evening for assaulting an officer. The police report this. The man initially needed medical attention but behaved aggressively and eventually went crazy.

Officers were called to assist ambulance personnel with a medical incident in Tholen. It turned out that things were not going well for the 22-year-old man from Halsteren. Paramedics tried to take him to hospital, but the man was uncooperative.

He reacted aggressively, cursed emergency workers and eventually had to be taken into an ambulance in handcuffs. Once he was there, he kicked a police officer. “He did not initially respond to this, because he thought it was important that the man received medical help,” said a police spokeswoman.

Security attacked
A few hours later, the police were called again, this time to support staff at the Bergen op Zoom hospital. There the 22-year-old man went crazy again. He had attacked security personnel and continued to behave aggressively. He ended up hitting a cop.

“Then it was enough. He was arrested and taken to the police station. The officer reported assault.”

The man is still in custody.
