Agent saves man from house fire in Zwevegem

Even before the fire brigade arrived, an officer from the local police zone VLAS, who was not on duty, noticed that the roof of the house was on fire. In the heat, she found the son unconscious in front of the stairs. She managed to get him out of the smoke and administer chest compressions, which made him breathe again.

The elderly mother managed to get to safety earlier. Around midnight, the fire brigade received a report about the fire in the Beekstraat in Zwevegem. When she arrived, the flames were already reaching from the roof. An interior attack to contain the fire, but failed due to the unbearable temperatures inside the house. In the end, the firefighters, with reinforcements from a car pump and a tanker, managed to save the ground floor from the blaze. The damage is total on the top floor.
