In my opinion, this is a difficult decision for the player. He is already 24 years old and certainly has the ambition to play for a top international club with a suitable environment. However, I would not advise any player to switch directly from Eintracht to a top international club. The step is too big for that and you should take an intermediate step via clubs in the Dortmund, Tottenham, Sevilla etc. category. With these clubs, the level of performance, including competition, is on a different level, the media has a stronger focus on the club and the supporters also ensure an undeniably more atmospheric backdrop. Such aspects should not be underestimated.
However, if the player waits until the summer of 2024, he would be 25.5 years and then takes an intermediate step of 2-3 years with a team with a high national class, then the contract with a top international club would already be the last big one in his career. Likewise, with increasing age, its attractiveness for training clubs such as Dortmund or Leipzig also decreases.
All in all, I don’t understand why the player signed such a long-term contract with a mediocre Bundesliga club in the summer of 2022, despite not having a contract, and why he couldn’t be guaranteed an exit clause. At this point, the player/advisor side worked sloppy in my eyes.
Edit: I always find it a little strange when players link their whereabouts to certain sporting qualifications. Of course, as an athlete you are ambitious and want to play against the best if possible, but for me that doesn’t indicate a healthy identification between player, team, club and fans.
Tottenham have Kane, Richarlison and Son up front, even if Kane were to leave (which I don’t really think) and Son get older he would at best be entitled to second fiddle…
Sevilla – I don’t think he really wants to play against relegation…
and Dortmund, he can also stay in Frankfurt, he also has a quieter environment there (never thought that I would say that about the “Diva from the Main”)
and the places in the clubs from the 1A squad are currently occupied (except maybe for Bayern), he’s also just playing a good half-series, you could see from Jovic how things went at Real, and in 2024 Benzema might think or Lewandowski to stop, and if it’s not Real or Barca, the subsequent castling will result in a 1A or at least top 1B team – if Frankfurt isn’t already one (again) itself…
