Against the extreme right | Article by Alex Salmon

That of the Chinese proverb on the finger and the moon is surpassed. And it is that the 21st century seems to consider that some of the Eastern lessons can be seen from different points of view. Then, we will have to give a spin to the fool who was left with the finger instead of the moon.

Let’s put the possibilities. Do we look at the moon, what is it that the sage teaches us? Do we look at the finger because, in reality, the wise man misleads us? Or do we reflect on the intentions of the sage in showing us the moon? After all, his decision is the genesis of the action.

It occurs to me when I reflect on the rise of the extreme right in Europe. His thought has been based on the Old Continent since the beginning of the 20th century. His ideology, though negligible, he takes advantage of diagnosing the opportunities of history well. Thus, Where should the focus of their success be placed, on their politicians or on their voters?

There have been, in recent days, Two situations of particular concern: the pass to the French second round of Marine Le Pen Y the entry into the Castilian-Leon Government of Vox. Both are the product of elections and, therefore, of democratic action.

Their formations haven’t gotten this far because of a hit on the table, or a fraudulent move. No. So the moon and the finger, or whatever, is on your voters. And here we come to the fundamental question.: Why does a voter decide to change his usual option and opt for an ultra?

Fascism or Falangism or Francoism, it matters little, has always existed in Spain. But Do you really believe that in Castilla-León there are 212,605 fascists? It was the result of Abascal’s match. And in Spain, 3,656,979. I would say no.

So the question is counter the arguments that voters buy from Vox and not to the politicians of that formation. The strategy of destroying them as leaders strengthens them among their voters. Emotions come in. And what it’s about is explain that their proposals do not exist. They are unfeasible for harmony between citizens.

The near disappearance of the centered French left and right, thanks to the softening of Le Pen’s message, is also very worrying. The Macron box saves the party. Come now.
