Again temporary shelter for asylum seekers in Bredene: First residents arrived

In order to increase the reception capacity of the reception network, Fedasil will temporarily use the center for sea classes De Horizon in Bredene. The first residents (46) arrived on Wednesday. These are persons who recently submitted an application for international protection in our country.

The reception center has a capacity of 260 places and will be used from November 2022 to March 2023. During the asylum crises in 2015 and 2019, the center was also used briefly for reception in the winter months.

The temporary reception center in Bredene, like all Fedasil centers, does not only provide basic daily needs (such as shelter, food and clothing). The asylum seekers also receive social, legal and medical assistance. In addition, the center organizes activities to offer them meaningful daytime activities.
