It’s happened again… The central search department of the LKA Berlin is looking for an inmate of the open prison who has not returned from vacation.

According to a judicial spokeswoman, Stanislaw M. (31) from Hellersdorf has been wanted since October 9th. He should have been back at the prison in Hakenfelde by 9:30 p.m. that day.

“The prisoner is serving a one-year, two-month sentence for theft and a six-month prison sentence for assault,” the spokeswoman said. The German-Kazakh has to serve his sentence until August 20, 2023.

If he is caught, the sentence does not increase. After all, escaping from prison is not a crime. However, the open prison will probably be converted into a closed one.

Other cases in the past

► Most recently, a convicted criminal (41) did not return to the Spandau prison on the night of September 18th. In February 2017, he was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison for drug trafficking and extortion. On September 27, he finally turned himself in to the JVA. His ex-wife had already announced him there. He has to serve his remaining 38 days in a closed prison.

► At the end of August, a convicted violent criminal did not return to a Berlin JVA. In 2016, Koray T. (28) killed a taxi driver (32) with three shots at the Kottbusser Tor in Kreuzberg. At that time he showed himself in photos as a contender for the Hells Angels.

In March 2019, he was sentenced to eight years in prison. The 28-year-old had not returned to Tegel prison from his first unaccompanied exit as agreed. He is still wanted.
