After a historically weak home World Cup
Carlos Queiroz is the new coach of the Qatar national football team. As the association announced, the 69-year-old signed a contract on Monday until 2026. For Queiroz, Qatar is already the eighth station as national coach. The former Man United co had previously coached the squads of Portugal, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Colombia, Egypt and most recently Iran under Sir Alex Ferguson. At the last World Cup in Qatar, Queiroz was eliminated with the Iranians in the group stage.
