After Tilburg and Den Bosch, no more night buses in Breda

Due to staff shortages, night buses will no longer run from Breda after December 18, carrier Arriva reports. The shortage of drivers means that the night buses are removed from the timetable. In May, Arriva also canceled the night buses in Den Bosch and Tilburg.

In May, the carrier announced that it would stop using the Nightliners from Tilburg and Den Bosch. Then she thought she’d get the workforce up to par with additional recruiting campaigns, hoping to get the Nightliners back on the road. Now the carrier is also scrapping the night buses in Breda.

Employment agencies
Arriva says it regrets the decision. “Especially now that nightlife has started again in the big cities at weekends. But employment agencies or Arriva’s cooperation partners are also unable to supply enough drivers for a reliable timetable on the night lines at the moment.”

The Nightliners are an extra service that Arriva offers, in addition to the regular daytime timetables. These are the buses from Breda to Oosterhout, Zundert, Made and Etten-Leur (lines 854, 855, 852, 850 and 851). They will run for the last time on the weekend of December 17 and 18.
