After three canceled performances, the North Netherlands Orchestra is finally at Lowlands

After being canceled at the last minute for three years in a row, it will finally happen for the North Netherlands Orchestra. On Saturday they will be at the Lowlands music festival. Soloist Annemarie Kremer, who hails from Emmer-Compascuum, is used to big world stages, but performing at Lowlands is a dream come true.

The fact that three times is a charm did not apply to the North Netherlands Orchestra (NNO). Their performance at Lowlands was canceled three times. The first two times because of the corona pandemic, but last year was a complete surprise for the orchestra. There was a delay in the preparations for main act Stromae, as a result of which the performance of the NNO, which took place after Stromae, was canceled.

“That was a shock to all of us”, Kremer looks back. “We work with soloists from all over the world, I myself live in the south of France. So I got a call in the morning saying: ‘The stage isn’t ready, so you don’t have to come’.”
