For the release of the new Rammstein single “Zeit”, the band relied on the support of YouTube: A successful “YouTube Premiere” of the music video on Thursday (March 10th) was followed by the publication of the entire Rammstein catalog on YouTube Music.
Tens of thousands of viewers staring spellbound at the screen, a countdown and a comment field: This is what the “YouTube Premiere” of the music video for “Zeit” looked like. Up to 10,300 fans simultaneously commented live on the band’s new work and got to see the usual impressive pictures for the first time.
The clip begins with a scene in which a rope is wrapped around the band members who are underwater. The musicians around Till Lindemann are portrayed as shipwrecked. More scenes follow in which the protagonists are in the role of soldiers or help out with blindfolds during births that are shown in great detail.
The announcement of the music video was not left to chance: it has been teased on video billboards in international capitals since March 8th. Berlin, London, New York and Los Angeles showed the YouTube advertising campaign for the Berlin band’s new single. The campaign is already having an effect, with more than 2,800,000 clicks on YouTube, the video has already taken first place in music trends.
All Rammstein songs have been available on YouTube Music since Friday (March 11). The new album ZEIT, which is said to contain eleven tracks, will be added from April 29th. Most recently, the band positioned themselves in a statement against Russia and for Ukraine. Till Lindemann recently made headlines with his relief campaign at Berlin Central Station.
