Losing your child is often called ‘hell on earth’ and ‘the worst thing that could happen to a person’. Obviously not for everyone. Maartje Lute (41) was terrified when her son lay helpless in the ICU for weeks, was not allowed to go home and caused total despair. Until he died and, against all odds, she was overcome by a four-year current of love and happiness.
