After relegation with Bielefeld: George Bello moves on to Austria to LASK

Meets ex-teammate Andrade

After being relegated to the 3rd division with Arminia Bielefeld, George Bello moved on to Austria. The 21-year-old left-back, who is moving on a free transfer, signed a contract with LASK until 2026 on Friday. There, the US international meets his teammate at Ostwestfalen Andrés Andrade, who returned to Linz earlier this month.

Bello came to Bielefeld in January 2022 for 1.8 million euros, where he played 35 games. “LASK tried very hard for me and I had the feeling from the start that something big was going to happen here. The playing philosophy shown to me fits my strengths very well and I would like to do my part to ensure that we are successful together nationally and internationally,” said the left-footed player.

LASK sports director Radovan Vujanovic added: “With George Bello we have secured a very exciting player for a free transfer. Due to his outstanding speed and his technical skills, he fits perfectly into our requirement profile. He was able to gain a lot of experience at a young age and also put his skills to the test in the German Bundesliga.”
