ZV de Zaan welcomes three new players for next season. One of these is old acquaintance Maud Koopman, who made the switch to Hungary last summer. The international of the Dutch water polo team returns after a year.
A year ago, Koopman took up the challenge to start working at Ferencvaros. The club reports that she will return to ZV de Zaan and that she is looking forward to sharing her experience with the team. Last summer, Koopman was one of the dropouts for the Dutch water polo selection for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
In addition, ZV de Zaan adds two players from the Dutch Juniors to the selection. Lois den Ouden from UZC and Esmee Roijen from ZVL, both seventeen years old, are joining the Zaankanters.
Coach Mick van den Bree, who will be in front of the group for the first time next season, is looking forward to the coming season. “We have been on an upward trend with the women’s selection for a number of years. And since the arrival of young players, in combination with the experienced players, we can continue this trend. I am already looking forward to a great and successful season.”
