More than example as it was by Harry Styles. Last week, Bush was even streamed almost 50 million times on the music platform. The reason is now known. At the beginning of this month, the last part of the fourth series came on Netflix and since then another hit from the 80s has been on the rise. The character Eddie Munson plays the song again in a crucial scene master of puppets (due to spoilers no further explanation of that scene will follow). Metallica band members have cooperated with the series and the version Eddie is playing.
The band reacted on Instagram last week: ‘The way The Duffer Brothers (the makers of the series, ed.) Stranger things processing has always been of a higher level. So we were more than excited that master of puppets is not only included in the show, but is also part of such a pivotal scene. We were all excited, it was extremely well done.’
In the meantime, Metallica is not doing any harm either, because master of puppets is on his way to track down Running up that hill to follow. Last week, the song was streamed almost 15 million times on Spotify and ended up in 26th place on the worldwide weekly overview. In recent days, the song has been played a sloppy 2.5 million times a day. And that for a song that was released on July 2, 1986.
