After just 6 games: Poland parted ways with national coach Fernando Santos

European Championship qualification in danger

Poland’s football association has parted ways with national coach Fernando Santos after just nine months. The PZPN announced this on Wednesday. We want to announce who will be the new national coach as soon as possible. On the fifth matchday of the European Championship qualification for the continental tournament in Germany in 2024, the Polish selection around Robert Lewandowski suffered its third defeat on Sunday (0-2 in Albania). The criticism of Santos hasn’t stopped since then.

The Portuguese only took over in January from Czeslaw Michniewicz, from whom Poland’s football association separated in December. The 68-year-old led the Portuguese national team to the European Championship title in 2016. During his tenure in Poland there was also a 1-0 win over the DFB team in June.
