Toronto FC is facing the third transfer coup of the summer and appears to have signed the next (ex-)Italian international. According to the editors of Gianluca Di Marzio, after Lorenzo Insigne (31) and Domenico Criscito (35), Federico Bernardeschi is also set to move to Major League Soccer.
The 28-year-old is without a club after the end of his contract with Juventus Turin and would therefore join his two compatriots on a free transfer. In the past few hours, Bernardeschi is said to have confirmed his desire to complete the transfer in a timely manner. Only the signature at the MLS club is still missing.
The 2021 European champion moved from AC Florenz to Turin in 2017 for 40 million euros, but was unable to establish himself as a permanent fixture there. In 183 games he was directly involved in 36 goals (12 goals, 24 assists).
