CelebritiesWhat goes around, comes around. After James Corden (44) was banned from New York restaurant Balthazar earlier this month for being rude, the British talk show host is now taking on the role of a chef for one of his new films.
Titled ‘Mammals’, the film stars James Corden as a chef who is anything but perfect. The British comedian mainly describes his character Jamie Buckingham as “complicated”. “He has a complex character,” said the talk show host. “Actually, he’s just like all of us. I care about him very much.” In addition, Corden admitted that the character of his character is very close to his own personality. “It’s the second time for me that I’m playing a Jamie. Just like last time, there are many similarities in character.” The actor would also be seen in a second film in the future.
The news comes about two weeks after the famous ‘restaurant riot’. Keith McNally, the owner of New York restaurant Balthazar, had put Corden on social media after he behaved inappropriately during his visit to the tent. The British talk show host went through the ribbon, among other things, after something turned out to be wrong with his wife’s omelette. “You are bad at your job,” it sounded, among other things, to the 44-year-old actor. In addition, Corden is also said to have said: “Maybe I should just go to the kitchen myself and prepare the dish.”
Slightly different version
Shortly after the incident, James Corden apologized to the owner of the restaurant. Although he told a slightly different story during his own program ‘The Late Late Show’. The comedian admitted that he had viciously suggested preparing the omelette himself. According to Corden, there would have been no question of the other comments. “My wife is really very allergic,” said the talk show host. In addition, the Briton claimed that they had made a mistake no less than three times in the kitchen. “When it went wrong for the third time, I lost control. I made a sarcastic comment and now I deeply regret it.”
Corden went on to say that he has worked in restaurants himself for years. “I have a lot of respect for everyone who works in this sector.” He continued: “But that’s the truth. I didn’t yell or yell. I didn’t insult anyone either. But I sincerely regret that one comment.”
