Nick Bakker has found a new club. The 29-year-old defender signs a contract with Al-Arabi in Qatar.
Bakker played 19 league games for SC Heerenveen last season, in which he was accurate twice. At the end of the season it became clear that he would leave. Club and player did not discuss a longer stay in the Abe Lenstra stadium. “There is a good chance that he will choose another club,” technical manager Ferry de Haan said last week.
Bakker has found a new club with Al-Arabi. Al-Arabi, which reports the transition itself, finished fourth in Qatar last season. Bakker was previously under contract with FC Groningen and FC Emmen.
