Leipzig (AP) – After only six months, the Dutch U21 international Brian Brobbey is leaving the Bundesliga club RB Leipzig again. The 19-year-old is returning to his ex-club Ajax Amsterdam on loan until the end of the season, confirmed RB.
Brobbey moved to Saxony on a free transfer in the summer, but could not prevail there. The striker made just one start in the Bundesliga and one in the Champions League.
Brobbey’s advisor Mino Raiola had said days ago that a return to Ajax would be best for his client at the moment. Ajax had wanted to keep Brobbey in the summer, but Leipzig offered a significantly better salary, according to Raiola. Brobbey had played for Ajax since 2010 and made the leap to the pros last season. In Leipzig, his contract runs until 2025.
Luan Candido is no longer part of RB Leipzig with immediate effect. The 20-year-old, who moved from Palmeiras São Paulo to Saxony in the summer of 2019 but was not part of the professional team, was last loaned to Red Bull Bragantino in Brazil. The RB sister club has now firmly committed Candido. No information was given about the amount of the transfer fee.
