After France and Cadzand, orca now washes ashore and dies: “Too early to speak of a trend”

On Sunday, an orca washed up on our Belgian coast for the first time since 1850. The animal died on the beach of De Panne after a short death struggle. “After an orca in the Seine and one in Cadzand, this is already the third to appear in our region in a short time,” says Kelle Moreau of the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences. Is there a chance that we will experience this more often in the future?
