Mitchell Dijks is going to make his comeback in the Eredivisie. The contract of the 29-year-old born Purmerender was dissolved at the Italian Bologna. As a result, the former Ajax player was able to transfer to Vitesse free of charge.
Dijks signs for one season with an option for another year. “I have had four wonderful years in Italy. I absolutely would not have wanted to miss the period in Bologna. I now take the experiences I gained there back to the Netherlands, in particular to Vitesse”, the defender says.
The left back previously played two periods for Ajax (2012-14) and (2015-18). Other clubs are sc Heerenveen, Willem II and Norwich City. The North Hollander is not yet in the match selection against FC Utrecht next Sunday.
