In recent years, Yah had many injuries and that gnawed at his confidence. “I missed that for a long time,” says the newcomer, who played premier league matches at Volendam in the first four premier league games. “Because of the injuries I was in very uncertain periods. Especially over my body.”
The injuries made Yah doubt several times. If one injury was remedied, the next one was just around the door. “Sometimes you’re going to wonder: is this for me reserved? I was lucky that my family stayed behind me and that my girlfriend kept believing in me. I am happy that I am now making them proud.”

Yah had a promising future at Ajax. The midfielder went through the youth academy and debuted in professional football at Young Ajax. In 2022 he landed at Jong FC Utrecht. In the Domstad he played three seasons with the promises, without breaking through at the first. That now succeeds at FC Volendam. “I have a trainer here who gets the most out of me.”
