After debacle in topper Wim Jonk concludes: “Emmen really wanted, we pretend”

Jonk had adjusted his basic formation in three places to make a better appearance in Emmen than against Excelsior. Walid Ould-Chikh, Josh Flint and Alex Plat took the places of Oskar Buur, Mike Eerdhuijzen and Boy Deul. Nevertheless, things went completely wrong in the first half. “You are trumped on all fronts”, Jonk said afterwards.

Of the three adjustments, the passing of routine Boy Deul was the most striking. According to Jonk, this also had to do with his physical condition. The midfielder, who came in immediately after the break, did not want to say too much about it. “Sure you want to play, but there were certain reasons for it.”

FC Volendam has to start gluing the shards quickly. The next confrontation with a competitor for promotion to the Eredivisie awaits Friday. ADO Den Haag will then come to Volendam. Of course, that game can be followed live on the radio at NH Sport.
