After cooking 42,000 meals for war refugees: “Maybe I’ll return to Eastern Europe one day”
He’s back home after a six-week mission. With a team of volunteers, he started preparing and begging 42,000 meals in Poland. The truck, which was converted into a war kitchen, is now almost completely clean.
Carlo Herpoel and his team of volunteers went to cook for 3,500 Ukrainian war refugees in Warsaw, Poland: “It was very busy there. There were four exhibition halls, comparable to Kortrijk Xpo, people were close together”, says Carlo Herpoel of Belgium aid.
Carlo’s truck and cooking bus are now in Heule. But nothing precludes their return to Eastern Europe.
