The snow and frost of early April is still etched in our memory. But there is light at the end of the tunnel: spring broke loose today with a lovely sun and temperatures of around twenty guesses. The city beach in Alkmaar was a good place for sunbathers, and in Zandvoort it was a pleasure for the first beachgoers.
The last licks of paint were applied to the already crowded beach bars. This afternoon the beach was strewn with walkers, who were enjoying the sunny weather: “After two years of pandemic, we can finally pop again. Summer has definitely started today. We are completely ready,” says Danouk Bom of beach bar ‘The Spot’ .
The sea temperature was still too cold today to take a dip in the water, but with 20 degrees it was doable on a rug or beach chair. “We can sit back and have a drink in the sun. Wonderful”, says a beachgoer with a big smile on her face.
