After a fall on the descent, Schwaiger missed the Super-G

Yanqing (dpa) – The German ski racer Dominik Schwaiger fell during the Olympic downhill run and will not be able to start at the Super-G on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old from Schönau started the race with number two and fell just before the finish line. Schwaiger slipped into a safety net and was later taken away in a rescue sled. After an X-ray examination in the hospital, a “bruise on the left forearm/elbow” was diagnosed, as the German Ski Association announced. Schwaiger had to take a “break for a few days”. He also misses the Super-G in Yanqing scheduled for Tuesday.
