After 5 years, section controls in Diksmuide will finally work
This was partly because there was not enough staff in the Regional Processing Center to process the fines. And now there is a solution for that. It concerns a total of ten section checks that will be active from 1 July.
Mayor Lies Laridon: “Various demarches were needed with the governor, the cabinet of the Flemish minister of mobility and public works and the cabinet of the Interior to finally get some movement in this file and to start speed enforcement. We also absolutely want the keep the keys of enforcement in your hands. 50 km per hour in built-up areas seems quite justifiable to me. In the places outside where only cows graze and potatoes grow, the 70 km per hour can definitely get a little more margin.”
