An accident involving several vehicles took place on the Afsluitdijk on Wednesday at the end of the afternoon. Five persons were injured. The road was closed for several hours, but was reopened on Wednesday evening by Rijkswaterstaat.
The Afsluitdijk was closed for several hours in the direction of North Holland due to a traffic accident near Den Oever. Police said four vehicles were involved in the accident and five people were injured. “One of them was trapped. All the injured have been taken to hospital.”
At around 7:45 p.m., Rijkswaterstaat reported that traffic could return to Noord-Holland via the Afsluitdijk. That is an hour earlier than expected.
