Algeria’s national coach Vladimir Petkovic has nominated four Bundesliga professionals for the Africa Cup. For the tournament, which will be held in Morocco from December 21st to January 18th, he called up Ramy Bensebaini from Borussia Dortmund, Farès Chaïbi from Eintracht Frankfurt, Ibrahim Maza from Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Mohamed Amoura from VfL Wolfsburg in the squad. Elias Benkara from the Dortmund U23, who was most recently part of the team, is not there.

Goalkeeper Luca Zidane (FC Granada), son of Zinédine Zidane, is also there. The 27-year-old made his debut in October after changing his sporting citizenship from France to Algeria. The Algerians’ most valuable player is Rayan Aït-Nour (Man City) with a market value of 40 million euros. The North Africans have won the Africa Cup of Nations title twice so far, most recently in 2019. Ivory Coast is the defending champion.
