The actor was born in Moscow on September 8, 1936. He began acting in films while still studying at VGIK. The debut roles were a soldier from the film “There will be no dismissal today” (term paper by Alexander Gordon and Andrei Tarkovsky) and a sailor in the film “Michman Panin” by Mikhail Schweitzer.
One of the first notable images was the role of Shura Balaganov in the film adaptation of the novel by Ilf and Petrov “The Golden Calf”. Altogether Kuravlyov played more than 200 roles.
