Aerosmith release EP with Yungblud – hear first song!

Aerosmith’s touring days may be behind them, but that doesn’t mean their saga is over. They recently entered the studio with Yungblud to record the five-track EP “One More Time” with producer Mark Schwartz. It was released on November 21st, but the first single “My Only Angel” can already be heard.

Yungblud met Aerosmith when he invited her to the studio for a guest appearance on his song “Hello Heaven, Hello.” They got along so well that their plans quickly expanded into an EP. This contains four original songs as well as a new mix of the Aerosmith classic “Back in the Saddle”.

Earlier this month, Yungblud joined Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards to honor Ozzy Osbourne.

What will the future of Aerosmith look like?

In 2023, Aerosmith canceled their Peace Out…Farewell tour after three shows because Steven Tyler destroyed his larynx on stage. Months later they announced their withdrawal from touring. “Unfortunately, it is clear that a full recovery from his vocal cord injury is not possible,” the band wrote in a statement. “We have made a heartbreaking and difficult but necessary decision – as a band of brothers – to step away from the touring stage.”

Tyler hasn’t played any full concerts since the announcement, but he has performed at several special events, including Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert, “Back to the Beginning,” where he sang without difficulty. Joe Perry, on the other hand, was with a newly formed version of the Joe Perry Project, which includes Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford, Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo and Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson.

On September 17, Tyler made a surprise appearance with the Joe Perry Project at the Hollywood Bowl, where they opened for The Who to perform “Walk This Way” and “The Train Kept A-Rollin’.” This was the closest thing to a full onstage reunion of Aerosmith since the abbreviated farewell tour, with three of the five members together.

Tyler, Perry, Whitford and bassist Tom Hamilton were involved in the studio recording of “One More Time”. However, drummer Joe Kramer was missing. He was replaced by former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum.

Now the possibility is in the air that there could be a proper final Aerosmith gig at some point in the future. “There has to be at least one more Aerosmith concert, and I’m not looking forward to putting together the set list for that,” Perry told Eddie Trunk in June. “But I don’t know, man. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
