The Italian fashion house Moschino has found a successor for its chief designer Davide Renne, who died in November. On Tuesday, parent company Aeffe SpA introduced Adrian Appiolaza as the brand’s new creative director.
The Argentinian-born will be responsible for Moschino’s women’s, men’s and accessories collections and will report directly to Massimo Ferretti, Executive Chairman of the Aeffe Group, the company said. The new creative director is set to make his debut for the brand with the women’s fashion collection for the fall/winter 2024 season, which will be presented on February 22nd as part of Milan Fashion Week.
Appiolaza most recently designed women’s fashion for the luxury label Loewe
Appiolaza most recently spent ten years at the luxury label Loewe, which is part of the LVMH Group. There he worked as Women’s Ready-to-Wear Design Director under the direction of creative director JW Anderson. Before that, he held the same position at the French fashion house Chloé.
Aeffe boss Ferretti welcomed the new addition. “We are happy and honored to welcome Adrian to the Aeffe family,” he said in a statement. “With his arrival at Moschino, Adrian brings with him a unique wealth of experience, creativity and knowledge of fashion history that will contribute significantly to writing a wonderful new chapter in the adventures of the label founded by Franco Moschino.”
