ADO’20 makes it quite difficult for Telstar in an exhibition match, but still falls

Telstar managed to win the exhibition match against ADO’20 in the final minutes. Mike Snoei’s team won 2-1 after a late goal by Christos Giousis. The Heemskerkers, who were promoted to the second division, offered quite a match throughout the match.

Telstar started the match convincingly in a sunny Velsen-Zuid. With Zakaria Eddahchouri, Aleae-Eddine Bouyoughlafen and Leonardo Rocha de Almeide, the three test players were on the bench. For Telstar it was already the fifth match in the preparation (3x win, 1x draw). ADO’20, which recently promoted to the second division, started the preparation later, but put aside RKAV Volendam 5-0 last Saturday.

Goalkeeper blunder

Coach Mike Snoei’s team quickly put pressure on ADO’20, so that it was quickly in possession of the ball. The pressure also resulted in the opening goal. ADO’20 goalkeeper Mike Glim took too much time, after which Quinten van den Heerik shot the ball in second after six minutes: 1-0.

Towards the quarter of an hour, summer acquisition Sebbe Augustijns had a great chance on the second goal, but he shot over from a smart cross from Lassana Faye. Cain Seedorf also had an excellent chance not past the goalkeeper. On the other hand, Milan Zonneveld had a great opportunity, but he pushed the ball just in front of Ronald Koeman Jr.’s goal. by. Although ADO’20 had to get used to the pace, Roy van der Mije’s team grew in the match, making it an equal battle.

Koeman also in error

Telstar started in the second half with the same line-up. Striker Youssef el Kachati, recently transferred from Quick Boys, turned out to be unhappy the entire match. The visitors equalized just after the break, thanks to a blunder by Koeman Jr.. Sofyan Reclaoui shot straight through the middle from 25 meters, but Koeman seemed surprised and saw the ball hit the goal behind him: 1-1.

The equalizer was certainly not against the proportion given the game image. A falling ball from Tom Overtoom and Zakaria Eddahchouri, who couldn’t get the ball in the rebound, were the only achievements that Telstar played together. A long shot by Christos Giousis was cleared twenty minutes before the end by goalkeeper Glim. Telstar took the lead in the very last minute. A sharply cut free kick by Giousis ended up in the far corner and as a result, the team from Velsen still won 2-1 against ADO’20.

Telstar’s open day will take place this Saturday. The White Lions then practice against Rijnsburgse Boys,
